ITB Celebrates Black History Month in the UK
Over the month of October, ITB team members attended a number of online panel talks, open forums and workshops to further their knowledge and learning of Black History in the UKView
ITB identified and secured two beacons of self-expression, Barbie Ferreira, star of Euphoria and Unpregnant, and British soul singer, Celeste, to join as the official muses of H&M’s AW20 Studio Collection that launched on September 24th. The talent were asked to self-style and create her own images allowing them to truly express their own sense of style and interpretation of H&M’s most quality, fashion-forward and sustainable offerings of the season.
Barbie was interviewed by Paper Magazine for the launch and spoke highly about the collection stating “I think that the silhouettes are very classic and gorgeous, but the fabrics are really fun, so there’s purple sparkly, and there’s these really bright greens,” she explains. “I love this one dress I wore that almost has like a collar and it has these little feminine twists to these really cool leather pieces and patterns, and that’s my favorite combo. [The collection] is very sexy and it blends a masculine look with a feminine look, which I also love.”
The limited collection takes cues from the brave nineteenth-century writer Violet Paget, encapsulating her fearless style with tapered tailoring, long-line silhouettes and feminine blouses. Bold opulence meets punk charm and disco celebrating the magic of floating between hyper-feminine and ultra-masculine tailoring. The fabrics are made from recycled Italian wools, Italian leather and organic cottons supporting H&M along its journey to strive for better.
