Hattie Stewart collaborated with Barbie and Izzy Wheels to launch a collection of wheelchair covers for adults and kids.
For this collaboration, four designers and illustrators – including Hattie Stewart – were briefed to reimagine Barbie for her 60th anniversary this year. Hattie Stewart was inspired by “Girl Power” for her cover, which features bold patterns, retro designs, Barbie characters and her signature trademark hearts.
Hattie commented, “My design is all about girl power – fun and playful with interacting characters and bold patterns. I was drawn to the iconic Barbie graphics from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, and incorporated diverse Barbie doll characters to show all the different facets of girl power!”
This collaboration is also part of an initiative by Barbie to be perceived as more inclusive and diverse. Earlier this year, Barbie added two dolls with disabilities to its Fashionistas line and included a mini version of Hattie’s collaborative wheel to its collection.
