Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert

Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert is an Italian-born fashion editor, stylist and creative director living in New York. After working closely with designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana for several years, she endeavored to become a stylist, starting as a fashion editor at L’Uomo Vogue under then Editor-in-Chief, Anna Dello Russo. She then began contributing to other Condé Nast publications, including Vogue China, German Vogue, Vogue Paris, and, later, newer publications such as Garage Magazine and Exit.
In 2009, Giovanna was named Fashion Director of Vogue Gioiello and Vogue Pelle under Editor-in-Chief Franca Sozzani. In 2011, Battaglia moved from Milan to Manhattan for her role at W Magazine and began her monthly column "Gio’s Journal". Deemed a “cyber icon” and “fashion heroine” by the New York Times, Giovanna is currently Contributing Fashion Editor at W Magazine and Senior Fashion Editor at Vogue Japan.
Giovanna is known for her sophisticated, polished looks infused with a sense of fun and she continuously draws attention from leading creative minds in the industry across the world.
